About Merobebe
Love lifting women up and keeping it real along the way?
You’re in the right place.
Welcome to Merobebe
Hi, I’m Megumi, here to share my honest, no bullshit perspective on business, life, and wine.
(Always wine.)
I believe women don’t need more advice. They need more rooms.
Rooms where they don’t have to earn their seat, and where they don’t have to shrink their ambition, dim their stories, or pretend they’re not fucking tired.
I believe in power with softness.
In leadership with laughter.
In saying the hard thing (gently, sharply, beautifully.)
I believe vulnerability is the strategy, that community and connection is our currency, and wine?
Wine is the invitation.
Join me as I deep dive into being a woman in business, whether that’s corporate America, startups, entrepreneurship, freelancing, and acting (been there), alongside easy-to-digest wine tips and highlights of woman-owned/made wines. I’m here to share my own experience and drink some wine, smashing the patriarchy along the way.
This is not your typical “this happened to me, let me tell you how to be better.”
I do things my way. You’ll do things yours.
That’s the beauty of it.
I’m just here to share the highs, the lows, and the messiness in between.
If you’re in, I’m thrilled to be pouring for you.
Let’s rise by lifting others with all the messy, beautiful ambition we carry.
Meet Megumi Calver
Writer. Strategist. Sommelier. Recovering(ish) perfectionist.
Megumi is the founder of Merobebe, a sharp, soulful platform that brings ambitious women together through wine, real talk, and unapologetic connection. Designed for women to own their brilliance, Merobebe speaks to those who tell the truth and take up space, ideally while sipping something bold.
Born in Tokyo and raised between cultures, Megumi learned early how to read people, unpack narratives, and understand power. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and NYU, she studied psycholinguistics and media business, sharpening her voice in spaces where excellence was the baseline. She went on to build a career helping brands do the same and now, she’s finally building one of her own.
A certified sommelier quoted in Wine Enthusiast, Megumi uses wine as both invitation and metaphor—her answer to a question too many women still ask in silence:
Where can I be smart, unfiltered, ambitious, and seen?
Through salon-style events, quietly devastating newsletters, and a sharp-poured perspective, Megumi creates space for women who refuse to dilute themselves just to fit in. She’s not asking for a seat at the table. She’s busy building the entire dining experience.
When she’s not writing and scheming with Merobebe, Megumi is drinking something bold and red, attempting to keep her houseplants alive, and spoiling her cats more than she likes to admit.
